I think it was Sosso's comment in another thread that reminded me that I have not posted pics of our recent jaunts. Since I am still not hunting, we can only shoot things with a camera, or go backcountry skiing and in some cases still mountain bike. BTW, if you are a skier and have not tried the backcountry stuff where you have to hike up to ski down.... do it. So much fun and really gets you in shape. I hope you guys enjoy the pics.

This was from this weekend. Six and a half miles and 2000 feet of elevation gain. This is an area I will try to hunt next year. Elk and deer sign. We saw a moose here last week while we were looking for a christmas tree. That's right, out here you are allowed to cut your own trees on public land.

Once we climbed high enough, we were in over two feet of powder. Incredible skiing.

Looks awesome! Send some snow our way. And that coyote has a coat built for that landscape. I bet he disappears when he is crouching low on a stalk.

That coyote was amazing to watch. The minute you took your eyes of it you could not see it again. Gorgeous animal.

We lost our snow again. You have to hike above 8000 feet to see any right now. Real bummer. We got four backcountry hikes/tours in before it got too thin at the lower elevations. We were getting a nice stable base too.

Looks like home to me Peter!! Though I don't ski. Would definitely lie to snowshoe.

Is that what they call 'skinning? (Hiking up and skiing down?)

Peter, there are so many people ignorant of the earth herself but you're sure not one of them. I always enjoy the pics.
