So you may know, I held off on 3 doe last Friday early evening in hopes my son and new hunter would get a shot the following morning. Friday night, we went through the rest of my trail cam pics and got one of a lone doe at 0706 Friday morning. Game on. We got settled in early Saturday morning. At 0655 I said, ok, let's be ready. She came by at 0706. 0708 I see a tail flicker to my right. Get ready! She got to a clearing about 50 yards, I stopped her. Bam! The .257 Roberts did it's work. So proud. He cried.....I cried...we high fived and hugged. He just got his licence in April, first deer ever. That was a long 12 year wait. In a few years, my younger son will be next.

I love it, Congrats to both of you! Best story this Year! I sure do miss the Youth hunting trips. I'd pay anything to relive my Daughter's first Deer again.

Thanks all. It was a great outcome. We quartered it Wednesday due to the heat and put everything in coolers on ice. Cut up steaks and made 15lbs of sausage Saturday. Grilled the end pieces last night. Yum.

Thanks all. Pat, he's a "little" taller then when we snow goose hunted in NY, lol...like 3 feet taller!
