I am going to book a July trip with my son to lake Michigan. We've always gone lake superior but thought maybe something different this year. Anyone had good experiences there? Thanks

Late July is a good time for Salmon. Sturgeon Bay and Algoma have many options

Mike...no decision yet. We're coming from Eau Claire so none are really too far. Guess I'm looking for a good charter. Thanks

Dumper Dan out of Sheboygan work very hard for their clients. Sea Dog is another well respected charter out of Sheboygan. Lee Haasch is highly regarded out of Algoma. All of these charters will work hard to put fish in the box for you.

I would go with Loris Pride out of Port Washington,,,, retired cops, will treat you well, I will send you a PM.... Dumper Dan is also very good, but a large operation,,,Also a friend of mine is a first mate for Nicky Boy out of Port,,,,, Either way, most charters are filled, so do not hesitate,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Here in the UP, I dropped off tied streamers to a guide.... He is already booked thru July, and that is stream fishing,,,,,
Issue with him, he has to contend with the gas prices,, that he can not pass off, as he has already set a price for his service.................

I had a boat slipped at Port for over 15 years. The Algoma/SB area is better for consistent big fish. At gh50 said, Lori's Pride is decent and it depends on the captain you get in Nicky's operation in Port. Not a fan of Dumper's operation.
How about hiring Captain Mike from this very site out of Milwaukee? He has (or at least did), an awesome well rigged Sea Ray and he's been captaining the big pond for decades now.

You want to come further south, Lucky Lyle out of Kenosha has run a fine fishing experience. Captain Tom P is an outstanding Captain. He has been nothing but a " let's get on fish" as well as safety first.

The only issue with going south Pasq is one has to go very far offshore to get to deep water once the water warms and the fish move out and down. That is where Algoma and SB (and even Sheboygan and Port) have the upper hand. Now, if someone wants easy limits on Coho in the early season, south is best. I used to fish Racine early season all the time. I also used to bump bottom out on The Hills for huge Greasers years ago too. I never ate one but I would get one smoked and give it to my parents to put out for a Packers game at the American Legion in Three Lakes trying to turn over the average age of the town :).

Hahahaha!! I havent been out there for a couple of years but the restuarant at the harbor called the "Boathouse" smokes too. I would watch all the guys bring the greasers in for the smoker.
Happy did you ever try perch fishing out there? When I first moved here we would do well but so did the other thirty boats too I guess. I dont here of them catching anymore.

I just found out the owner of Lucky Lyle passed away last week. Not sure what's going on with the boats etc. Web site still up and I'm sure Captain Tom is still out there
