Good afternoon everyone,

I hope everyone is having a great start to their summer. I recently had to relocate to Minneapolis for my job and I am an avid bow hunter. Looking for any advice on how to bow hunt this great state. (Not looking for any spots) just trying to learn.

I am a younger hunter so I am also willing to help any hunter drag their deer if they are looking for a hunting partner. Just trying to enjoy the outdoors and learn as much as possible.

Suggest to go to the COON RAPIDS Traditional Shoot at Bunker Hills, June 11-12, some one may give you some info. May give you a chance to shoot some bows by venders and have a good time.

I would probably head to SE MN to hunt. Check out the public land down in that area.

This will help you find some places to explore.

If you draw a line diagonally through MN following I 94 it defines the transition zone between the agricultural and forested zones. This is where you will find the best whitetail hunting.

I strongly suggest you get copies of whichever of these Minnesota All-Outdoors Atlas & Field Guides suits your needs. You won't find a better reference for finding public land and navigating back roads.

DIY - PM me with your email address. There are a lot of opportunities to explore here in MN if you're willing to put some time in. What I can offer you is a friendly crash course on Twin Cities metro hunting for DIY public hunting to give you an edge if you're willing to put up with a few rules and some politics of organizations.
