After 2 months of practice with several recurves I'm going g to stick with 1 finger up , 2 down with my 50 year old Fredbear glove . It works for me .

Split was the way I used to shoot. It gave me a better feel and I shot way better.

While split felt better to me. I think I shoot better with three below.

I'm a split finger guy also. Played with the 3 under and did not like the feel of it, it is noticeably louder, and not as natural for me. You have to shoot what feels best for you, none of the ways are wrong or right. The one that really bugs me personally is the string walking. Can't stand watching someone draw and shoot a bow with their fingers 4" below the arrow nock!!!

Split finger here. I've shot split finger for over 50 years and never even attempted 3 under.

I switched to 3 finger, for me, it was the answer...... Now like riding a bike, really.... Everyone is different,,,, no set way, just one that works for you.................

I tried the Tab but this 50 year 3 finger still is a smooth release . I do wipe it with Mink oil once a year .

I used a tab with my compound. Then went to a glove with my recurves, then to a tab. Kept hitting my nose with the string, so went back to a glove. Then back to a tab. Then back to a glove. Did not like the groove that formed in the fingers of my gloves, so went to a tab and figured/shot my way out of hitting my nose (or eventually cut the end of my nose off with the string). Been with the tab for a few years now. Each one works, just up to the shooter.

Shot this group at 20 yards with a 45 lb Staghorn today using 1 up / 2 down . Nasty conditions , 12 arrows & sweat pouring off me .

Nice group Ruger, don't break what's working Like Live2hunt, I gone back and forth on tab and glove, stay with the glove 3 under but that is just me, my brain is locked in and too late to change it.

Glen, your ready to go!!! Are you enjoying your journey back into real bow shooting? It overwhelmed me the first 7 years, lol.

Having a blast Live , I shoot using the same practice methods that I used when I shot in Tournaments for The Ojibwa club many years ago . I start the year with making sure I have 12 matching arrows .

I shoot 1 arrow & walk away from the target for several minutes, then I shoot again . A month before opening I shoot 12 arrows per day & walk to a different spot for each shot . Never stand in the same place & pound arrows .

Another fun thing is warming up on your way into the stand by stump shooting. I have a judo point in my quiver and when I see a bright big mushroom sticking out, I take a shot. I have honestly roved for an hour or more after sitting a morning.

I use to use a Wilson Black Widow Tab with calves hair. They had a plastic kisser also for anchoring. Best tab I ever owned.

Hoot, I always wanted to try one of those, but did not like the 3 separate finger tabs. They look like they would defeat the purpose of a tab.

Live - They really don't though.

This had been a big help also. I study it just before shooting .

Glen, your finding some pretty good illustrations. Another one I suggest is looking up Tom Clum on youtube and watching his videos. Especially the last one on your shoulder and shooting correct to not injure your shoulder.
