East Idaho Whitetail areas of focus

I am new to hunting Idaho and live in Idaho Falls i have never harvested a Whitetail before i was wondering what kind of terrain I should be focusing on River Bottoms I have heard but when scouting the vegetation is so thick i could be two feet from a deer and not even notice so hopefully somewhere i could put a ground blind. Any info you could give this old vet would be greatly appreciated!
