I had two bears patterned hard heading into my cornfield. Wind was extremely risky but It was supposed to be more SSW than S so I gambled. Bear came out of the swamp and headed into my corn with just ten minutes of shooting light remaining. Shot was awful - guts - so I backed out and found it this morning. A lot of effort in plots and scouting went into this kill. All worth it!
First bear I’ve ever seen from my stand.

Nice job Pat. I recently bought land in area 5S (preference point necessary to get doe permit) that has a lot of bears by the looks of it. Apparently they have a better sense of small than deer because they trash my trailcams. so I hope to join your endeavors

One less garbage can with feet! Nice work, and good job on the recovery, gut shot bears can be rough.
