Last night was an 0 fer. Thought that front rolling in would have gotten them up. Seen the inside of my eyelids this morning, not even worth it. We're getting in early this afternoon in 5C. Hopefully they will get moving.

Only sprinkled for a few minutes around 5. Saw several deer in the big field on my way to a blind. It sprinkled 2 or 3 times and I left the blind at 10 without seeing a deer. Did see a baby bear size groundhog. Other guys saw a few too.

We did have does munching on chestnuts in the front yard a couple times in the afternoon. Watched lots of football.

Nice morning Monday, but it was a little cold. Saw 2 illegal bucks. Coyotes were vocal. Unable to get out in the PM.

Got some great tactacam footage this morning of the large doe and spike buck following her past my stand and licking branch. 4 does under the chestnut trees in the front yard when I got home. Raining at hunting time in the PM.

Nice cool temps to start the season. Reed shot a buck Saturday in the rain. Made a great shot and the buck only made it about 50 yrds. Best of luck to all.

Way to go Doug's son. Dan was here ready to go at 5 this morning. I saw a big buck come out near a stand I wasn't in just after 6 this evening. He hung around about 100 yards away until dark.

Didn’t hunt opening morning but my daughter, Mila was excited to get painted up and sit a big ladder stand with me in the evening. She spotted the first 3 does of the evening. Ended up seeing 5 does total with one unidentified deer in the corn at 15 yards at last light. Spooked another 5 on the way back to the car on the walk out.
Monday morning felt good to be in a tree, but I didn’t see anything. Had to leave by 8 to get to work and my dad was still seeing deer closer to 9 but the wind swirled on him. Didn’t make it out the rest of the week.

Busy hosting 5 hunters at the farm this weekend so didn't get to post Friday, with 2 guys already in the woods and three more coming tonight. Saw a young buck chasing a couple does around in the PM, then a big mamma bear and here nice sized cub.
