Your entry is simple. After the 60-day drying period, have it measured by an official Pope and Young measurer, and send me a picture of the score sheet. I do not need anything else. I know most the measures and I have all the means necessary to verify the authenticity. I am a measurer myself, so if you’re in Northern Colorado, send me a message.
Your animal does not need to make the Pope and Young minimum to be recognized. We just want the top three for each species from our CBA members. I also want pictures of adolescent bucks, bulls, bears and cats as well as females of each species for the continuous slide show that will be shown during the event.
Bottom line, if you are a member, and were successful this year with an animal (Colorado or otherwise), consider these options:
1- Bring it to the display this spring. (All animals, any state- mounts preferred, but if timing doesn’t allow, skull caps will be displayed as well) 2- Enter it into the awards presentation (Colorado animals only). The top three will receive an award and the remaining entries will still be recognized after dinner is served on Saturday, March 11th. 3- Send me pictures for the slide show to brag about our members being some of the best bowhunters in the country!
Last year I had many people accommodate us in all three options and we had an amazing event as a result! Talk to your taxidermists and hunting partners and let’s make this display better than last years! This is also a place to meet vendors, compare hunting tactics with some legends and hear stories of seasons past from other CBA members just like you. The event is getting bigger ever year as we grow as an organization. See you all in March!
