Still no bucks
Connecticut

I’ve had 3-4 does on my camera every day. Still not a single buck since mid October. What am I doing wrong??
I went tonight saw 2 , camera had one at a different spot . Just at dark . Had a buck chasing a doe during the day . Start putting as much time as you can on stand . They will come by .
Thanks steve! Skipping class tmr and doing an all day sit. Hopefully something comes by
It’s just getting hot. Scrapes are finally popping up yesterday and today. Tomorrow will be a good day. Friday too. Shoot a nice one.
If you have doe in the area the bucks will come when the doe gets hot. They are the best attractant for bucks there is, they are the ticket to the game. Good luck.
Like BBB said. You already have half of the equation. Look for does during the rut. Look for food sources after
Thanks guys, out again this morning. Nothing yet but praying something will come by
Had a 8 at 7 am on camera . There moving
Lol. Parked this morning and was getting my gear together and I hear a deer crunching through the leaves across the steer. I just stop what I’m doing and listen. He gets closer and closer, walked through a yard and crossed the street under a street light in front of me.
Then as I’m walking to my stand I hear a deer and stop. I see two green eyes coming my way through the laurels. I know he hears me in the leaves…..he’s coming to fight me. He stops. 10-15’ away. All puffed up. Posturing. Licking his lips in my headlight. Stands there for 30-45 seconds. A big solid 6 point. Tall rack. Then realized I wasn’t a deer and took off.
Get in my stand and I’ve seen nothing so far. It’s windy as hell. They are cruising somewhere. Just not where they’re supposed to.
Had a spike walk past ten minutes before sunrise. Just browsing and moseying along.
This guy was out cruising all night. It's nap time for him .
He put his head down for only a couple of minutes. Needs another year or two.
Nothing this morning since I messed up and sat in the wrong spot lol. Driving home saw about 10 deer scattered in fields. I guess that's just how it goes. Going back out around 2:30 and hope something comes by
Nothing this afternoon. Wind was definitely in my favor, but I’m stupid and realized that all those pictures of does were from last week, not this one. Moved the camera this week but didn’t get anything on it, so I’m going back to my old spot with the does. Hopefully something comes along soon, but enjoying the outdoors is never a bad thing even if I don’t get a shot off
SCT don’t sweat it. It’s the worst season ever in CT. Look at the site here…..barely any deer killed and we are prime time rut right now and no bucks being killed here…..let alone any rut activity, chasing, cruising etc. Tag soup is delicious on January. :)
Thanks blood! Hopefully it changes soon
Hate to say the S word, but we better get some snow in Dec. to get on some trails.
Chance of a little snow end of next week. Good luck to all.
“He put his head down for only a couple of minutes. Needs another year or two.”
I can just about guarantee you he wouldn’t get those years if I were anywhere within 30 yards ;)
Yeah I’m with corax. He’d be dead if I was near him.
Damn I’d kill to see that buck. Take that back, any deer lol
Go to the Midwest. I passed about 5 bigger than that already this week. Been in the 80's all week, now it's going to be 20 on Saturday.
Thanks nehunter - headed to Ross County Ohio the end of November to go hunting with some family. Super excited!
SCT. Chillicothe is the heart of the Big Buck area
Good luck!
Or you could just say "Many thanks"... lol
Lol yeah not sure what happened there. Let’s see if this one does that too
It happens to me a lot when I use my phone as opposed to computer
Still not a whole lot of activity in my area and I'm ok with that, haven't been able to get out. I just walked around and only found 2 rubs no scrapes. Hopefully the rain holds of tomorrow morning.
Yeah headed out this evening again. Put up a camera on a scrape, but I’m assuming it’s from a doe. No rubs anywhere near me
There don’t have to be rubs in the area of scrapes. It’s extremely rare for a doe to make a scrape, but they will definitely visit them.
I out now. Saw my usual squirrels and that’s it. - super slow season
Welp, turns out the scrape was on the property line. Where I hunt has some pretty weird boundaries and I met the people next door who asked I not hunt there. Checked Huntstand and it’s technically where I’m allowed to hunt, but I’m not going to press it. I’d rather go to my other spot with plenty of does. It’s too bad though, that’s the only spot with any buck sign
SCT - a hot doe will bring the bucks far more times during the rut than visiting a scrape. I would stay with doe 100 percent.
Zero deer. Started late bc of rain & UTV trail has a nice fallen tree blocking it. Saw another dozen turkeys. I should become a turkey outfitter. Anyway - more rain for Sunday. Time to drink. Prost
