Good afternoon. Hoping one of our Wyoming friends can help us out. Looking for a round trip horse packing service in a unit outside Cody. This will be for our 2023 archery elk hunt and we would also require meat pack out assuming we kill elk. There is two of us and we would be using our own gear. Thank you and happy Holidays. Joe.

Pack service only is very tough to find. On National Forest they have to be registered to do pack service - typically it means only packing game out - they cannot pack you and your camp in. It is easier to figure out where you are hunting and contact the national Forest to get a list of who is permitted to pack in that area. The list is often very very small. I was shocked how difficult it was. I would look into renting llamas.

Yep, packers have to be licensed too.
