This pic was just off Hwy 400 east of Augusta. The guy running the gun counter at Orschelns in Eldorado said it was taken on his hunting property. I see a black tip on the left side of the cat where the tail would be. Possibly the same cat as the top one.

Wow, that's cool pics! Jason on bottom cat the 2 black spots on inside of left front leg makes me think big bobcat. Just a thought not sure.

Agree Dan, second pic is a Bobcat. God I hate seeing all those three legged trash dumps in every pic!

Kyle, Seems like every time I go for a drive to see what's happening there are more and more showing up, a rancher I know and hunt on made a comment on how ugly all the shooting huts and towers are, I had to agree. But back on post have seen more cats this year than the last few, but not a long tail.

Yep, second one is a bobcat for sure. The size compared to the stalks, plus of course the markings. I’ve yet to see a mountain lion… pretty cool to get a picture of one.

Always wanted to be the first guy to kill one in Kansas. Some rancher by Medicine Lodge beat me to in 07'.

The guy in 07 was beat long before he or any of us alive were even born.

In the 80’s I hunted a lot in Osage County (near Hominy). If there was a place that could hold a pocket of them, the remote parts of Osage County would be it!

what are the game laws now on killing a cougar in Kansas ? are they regulated? protected?

I hunt north of Osage, in Chautauqua County, KS. Same country. Very wooly. Lots of bobcats. I’d imagine a lion would do alright in these parts.
