a feeling

While whitewater rafting we passed through a section of river with high bluffs and a feeling came over me. Just then the guide said this spot was considered sacred by Native Americans. Similarly, while setting up a slender oak ridge deep in a swamp yesterday I had that feeling. This time I'm hoping a P&Y buck considers the spot sacred or perhaps I'll share the spot with the ghosts of some Wampanoag bow hunters staring quizzically at my cross bow while saying WTF,LOL. Ever get that "feeling" about a spot and have it become one of your best stands ever ?

We had that “feeling” when we set up “Bella’s stand”. That’s where my uncle ended up shooting the 156” 8 pointer. Never ever had a picture of him anywhere near that stand either. Sometimes you just never know

Tekoa. "Power of place", as stated by the anthropologist, Mr. Bagley, exists for those lucky enough to feel it. It's nuanced and intuited but always a thrill when it happens. I won't over think why I feel it ;just grateful I occasionally do. I'm not surprised Native Americans could recognize a special spot.. They went to great lengths to develop the spiritual aspect of their existence . Anyone who has experienced it understands that it's a message without words and beyond the realm of scientific explanation.
