I have an 8point European mount and the skull is starting to dull. Probably several way to make it look better so I thought I'd ask those in the know. please advise, thanks. And good luck this upcoming season.

Tape off the base and spray paint white. pretty simple.

Spray paint????

Everybody likes what they like and I’m all for it, I suppose…

Personally — and maybe this is just the biologist in me talking — I think most Euros are too damned white! They don’t really look like actual bone at that rate….

If the skull has not been “sealed” somehow, I would think that masking it off, maybe a quick dip in some peroxide and let sunshine do the rest… main concern for me would be maintaining the original coloration of the rack, since that tells part of that animal’s unique story….

If it has been sealed/varnished/lacquered somehow, I’m sure there’s a standard procedure for freshening that….

Hi Tom. I know Zach used to be on here. He still does tons of euro mounts. I would reach out to him. I know he’ll help. PM me for his number. You’ll be in good hands.

Do a dark primer then white spray paint. Don’t overthink it.
