How much should landowners charge per acre when renting to bow hunters

It depends on where you’re at and what the ground is like. If you have 100 acres with most being tillable in Hardin county is a little different than 100 acres mostly woods in the western part of the state. But a round about number is $50 an acre.

I would say that the lands hunting history plays alot into the cost. If the land is known for producing big buck year after year, the rent price will be more.

Talking about leasing hunting land for $50.00 an acre. IL. timber/hunting land back in the 70's was not selling for very much. But back then the average working wage was not very much as well. Edge Hunter did you get my PM?

I know everything has gone up in price but to give an idea of how things have increased, I bought 10 acres of tillable ground 5 years ago for 50k. That’s was the going rate but now it’s between 8-10k an acre. In 5 short years it’s almost double. In those 5 years I’ve made about $20,000 in return so it pretty much is paying for itself. It’s a lot of money to buy your own ground but if you can it’s worth it in the long run.

The answer to the question would depend heavily on what the objective is. Is it to "maximize rate of return", "promote and foster the NA model", "eliminate crop damage", etc.?
