Passed quite a few small bucks and does with fawns. Managed to get one of my biggest does ever with the bow - 127lbs field dressed. Didn’t hunt too much after state land bow ended in mid November. Otherwise had a very good season and super thankful we had an amazing acorn year to help with deer sightings.

My worst Year I can remember. Damn Achilles Rupture Labor Day. Couldn't bow hunt CT one day. Sat on the ground in KY and got lucky with a 10pt.

Rifle/Muzzleloader hunted a few weekends and passed a bunch, I couldn't drag so I was picky.

They will pay next Year!

I’m tagged out for January, still have a replacement doe tag but not sure I’ll use it. Took a doe and a nice buck to start off 2024.

A doe in Mass. Had target buck in range twice but no good shot..... ! Based on 2023 surveillance I just finished 2 new sets for him. Love this chess game and the board it's played on.

I would grade my season as a B+ based on a few variables. I know going into each season that I consider myself blessed if I get one shot at one of my targeted bucks. I did that and made good on it by killing a 5.5 yr old with a thick/heavy 21” frame. He was a seven point but he’s primarily been a six point his whole life. All good stuff, but fewer sightings of my targeted bucks this season. Then on Christmas Eve my #1 (140+” ten point) shows up for the first time this year. I had seen him on camera last season in late November and had two in person encounters with him on Dec 3rd and 4th with no shot opportunities. Then he disappeared for the remainder of the season. I knew he wouldn’t hang around long so I started hunting him immediately even though he hadn’t daylighted yet. Sure enough, on my first evening hunt he comes right in to the scrape I’d set up on (where I got him on camera for 3 out of 4 nights previously) he was pushing a bunch of does all around so it was tough to not get picked off, but he finally presented a shot at 20yds and I completely choked. For some dumb reason I did not shoot an arrow with a lighted nock, so I can’t tell exactly where I hit him, but I knew right away, by the sound, it wasn’t good. I believe I hit him low, smack solid on the leg bone. Upon inspection, the Broadhead was mangled. I waited 55 weeks to see him in person again and I F’d it up!! Anyway that left a nasty taste in my mouth to end my season so I dropped the overall grade down to a B+

LB, I can understand your feelings. We all sit in that tree fully knowing how the events of the day could raise hell with our emotions. B+ ain't bad and it's a weighted grade too. That you're man enough to own up to a poor shot speaks volumes.

I’ve been lucky out here at college in MI. Filled my two buck limit with two 10’s. One off big country ag land bean field and one on the seek one model. CT was a tough picking for me this year. I missed a great buck over thanksgiving. But that’s all apart of it. A+++ for Michigan hunting. B for CT lol. I am hoping to get out for some goose hunting this weekend. Maybe get my dog out with me later in March for snow geese. Anyone doing any late goose hunting?

Took a nice state land 7 point the Monday before Thanksgiving with my bow. The only deer I saw that week while I visited the family for Thanksgiving. Hunted state land everyday while being home (besides Sunday).

I was blessed to fill tags in archery, rifle and muzzleloader. I had to hunt late mornings until sunset and only hunted one morning all season (opening day of rifle) due to my family schedule but I had a good season. B-

Tall 1- I was lucky as well, this season. I was able to fill tags with archery, rifle and muzzleloader during 2023, also took an archery buck in the January 2024 season. Freezers full and some good memories, already looking forward to the next season !
