Haven't been out yet myself, but will be soon I hope. Itching to get Remi out. She's our chocolate Lab. Her favorite throw toy is an antler, we play a couple times a day. She's found a few wild ones on her own, hopefully can get her on some this year.

So, what are you finding? Or will you wait a little longer?

I was thinking about taking a walk this weekend. Is it too early?

had at least 6 bucks this morning still with head gear.

Good info Steve. I'd hate to look in a good spot and chase any bucks still holding off the property. I'll be specifically looking for the antlers of two great bucks I saw on one of my properties, the Big Guy (no relation to Biden) and his buddy.

I'm fairly new to CT, but no shed bucks on cam here. SE-NY cams still holding. I've never had a shed buck on cam in January. always feb or march, CT probably the same?

Earliest fresh shed I have found was Jan 2nd or 3rd. Many still have antlers in northern zone 11 but there should be a few on the ground. It’s Great to backtrack in the snow to see where they are bedding and feeding. I’ll start taking the dog out more in early to mid Feb and hope to find a few.

I usually do poke around most weekends mainly scouting / shed hunting never really found to many sheds before feb but that could just be a me thing. I usually do like to see what I missed from the previous year with rut sign and other stuff and it realy is so surprising what I missed throughout the year. Really shows me that in season scouting on larger tracts of public land is just so important. A lot of times these deer were right under my nose and I didn’t even notice it. All part of the game though.

I will check my cameras this weekend and see what's going on.

SHEDS should be popping in pretty soon, he usually puts on a lot of miles and finds quite a few.

Anyone have favorite spots to search? I.e. bedding, travel, feed areas? Or just randomly grid the area.

My #1 dropped in December. So it depends on the Buck.

Definitely depends on the buck. I just noticed in the last two nights two of my bucks are half racks. All the rest are still carrying

I pulled a camera that I hadn’t checked since early October today. It had some big ones on it. I’ll make a few loops up in the thick stuff this weekend and see if I can find one, just one darn shed.

I have terrible luck finding sheds. Awful I might add. I rarely if ever find a shed.

Blood, same here. I stumble on one once in a while, but they are usually a year old, white and chewed on. I can't find fresh ones. The dog has found a few, old and new.

I would find them when I used to rabbit hunt . I haven't found one in years. might check the fields when I pick up my cameras.

Finally got out for a little over an hour yesterday with Remi. We didn't find any. The only thing she found was a pile of possum poo to roll in. $%&@ dog!!
