Stopped at a private pond on my way home yesterday to wet my line for the first time. Had some fun for about 30 minutes before it started raining.

I’m not sure because the water was higher than normal due to the drought we’re having. lol I did figure out pretty quickly that the retrieve speed had to be much slower because of the water temperature. Nevertheless it was pretty relaxing and now I’m ready for turkey season!!

It's too early for the spawn. Right around May 1st, you will start to see the beds popping up.

I suppose, with all the peepers out and about, some of the bass might be getting used to the idea of picking off a small popper….
